Montréal, le jeudi 29 septembre 2010 - Ralph Leroy, jeune designer en vogue, vous invite à venir découvrir sa nouvelle collection printemps/été 2012, qui aura lieu le vendredi 30 septembre à 21h à Ottawa Convention Center, 55 Colonel By Drive, dans le cadre de la 6ème édition de la Semaine de mode d’Ottawa. Baptisée Élément FEU, cette collection sera véritablement magique. « Le feu est le symbole et la réalité de la vie elle-même.  Il incarne la vie autant que la mort et jouer avec cet élément exige rigueur, compétence et patience », exprime Ralph Leroy à travers sa nouvelle collection.

Ralph Leroy a le feu sacré !

Le feu est exigeant. Il revivifie, nous réchauffe et nous tue. Quel beau défi que de jouer avec un élément doté de plusieurs dualités ! En Le feu sacré nous mène aussi bien à l’amour qu’à la guerre. C’est un élément à double tranchant qui a marqué l’évolution des hommes et a changé radicalement la vie sur terre.

                      

Cette année, la collection Élément Feu de Ralph Leroy relève ce défi : jouer avec le feu exige une technique à part entière, le feu demande rigueur, compétence et patience. À travers sa nouvelle collection printemps/été 2012, Ralph Leroy démontre - s’il fallait encore le prouver- qu’il a le feu sacré !

Préparez-vous ! Cette saison le style de Ralph Leroy sera de braise. Sa collection pour femmes souligne la sensualité aguichante de la femme qui ose transcender sa féminité en osant allier volume et fluidité à travers des drapés de soie très colorés. De même que la souplesse des corsages en jersey donne toute la liberté aux femmes qui osent s’affirmer. Ralph Leroy a pris le soin de texturer le lin ciré, le coton et la soie en améliorant le caractère de ces tissus pour offrir aux femmes une liberté dans l’expression de leurs mouvements et certifier leur personnalité.

Quant aux hommes, cette saison, Ralph Leroy leur apporte une touche particulièrement séduisante avec des coupes structurées et élégantes. Les chemises sont confectionnées en coton noble, les pantalons en lin ciré ou en denim dénotent d’une recherche sophistiquée dans leur agencement. La légèreté des vestons sport inspirés de la coupe ajustée européenne accentue le charme de l’homme moderne des années 2000 et sa silhouette masculine. Cette saison, Ralph Leroy ose aussi revenir avec des salopettes, certes confortables, mais réinventées: les bretelles sont raccourcies, les jeux de zips et de boutons à pression permettent aux hommes de mettre leurs corps en évidence tout en restant branchés.

Once again, I am late. I get in, change right away and grab a chic constructed jacket for...to be quite honest, I have no idea the exact event of where I am headed. As I make a run for an available taxi, I notice some friendly strangers shooting me a smile here and there. "People are so nice" I think to myself. Once getting in to my taxi, I reach the location I hope is the correct one and walk up the stairs braving myself for what is to come. The crowd is dressed in somber tones all looking well put-together sipping their flutes of champagne. This looks so familiar. What time of the year is it again? I look to the obvious of signage in the room that reads "Montreal Fashion Week 2011".

My instinct never fails me. Thanks to it, my outfit is appropriate for the event that calls for trendy  attire with edge. I place my hair that continues to fall out of place and catch the eyes of some lovely ladies. One smile here, another smile I catch at the corner of my eye...camera flashes flicker. The red leather of my Ralph Leroy jacket seems to be catching every one's attention!

My Ralph Leroy "Ralphy" jacket is designed to seductively stand out and get more than one look. If he were still around today, James Dean would be wearing the Ralphy to an exclusive party in Hollywood. Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp for a modern take would fit perfectly as well. This jacket is for the confidant, stylish gentleman who may be known to the female population as a heart breaker. You have been warned!

I did receive many looks with the Ralphy by Ralph Leroy jacket at Fashion Week and I am sure The King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson would have been proud and confidant in it as well.

A double-breasted blazer and just below the knee pencil skirt have got to be the two pieces of clothing with the strongest stereotype. You always see the two together on that bland, bald, dusty, white mannequin at Banana Republic or more bluntly put at "Femme de Carriere" and think "working girl" instantly. The pair is trendy every other season but will always remain a must-have outfit to have in any gal's wardrobe at any age. Ralph Leroy has roughed up this stereotype and has brought the stuffy skirt and blazer idea up in between where your vivacious weekend skirt and vintage designer jacket hang.                                          

From this season's Air Element collection, Ralph Leroy presents us with the Oli, a well adjusted, geometric inspired mid waist blazer. Ralph change de villes tout en explorant de nouveaux horizons. Cet homme cosmopolite semble avoir un faible pour les villes-monde. En effet, après Miami, Boston et New York, il vit maintenant à Montréal. Et, comme il le dit si souvent, Montréal l’habite. Professionnel émérite, il y exerce la profession de designer et il est très proche de son public.

La vision de Ralph rime avec l’excellence. Tous ceux qui le connaissent vous diront qu’il fait montre d'ingéniosité créative et remarquable. Aussi, s’est-il donné la mission d’accompagner son public dans ses fantaisies les plus folles. New York, the capital of fashion will be the witness of Kofi Collection premiere this Fall. The anticipation is boiling on slow burner. Excitement is increasing little by little. At last! Kofi Collection, created by Ralph Leroy, acclaimed fashion and jewelry designer, has been renowned internationally and in particular, in Montreal, Canada, its home.

For quite some time New Yorkers have been following the brilliant uprise of this astounding company. And today, finally, the Big Apple is the next destination of Kofi Collection.

This exceptional event will bring to the eyes of jewelry lovers, exclusive creations made of sumptuous rare stones and corals, in other words, a lavish melting pot of trinkets bursting out of Leroy’s workshop for the Fall 2009 season.

Martin Théberge
Biographie



Martin Théberge naît en 1980 dans un petit village de Gaspésie, Saint-René, aux environs de Matane. Très jeune, il commence à chanter dans la chorale de son école primaire. Il est encouragé à pousser son talent de chanteur par Mme Claudette Paquet, professeur de chant et de musique. Adolescent, il part étudier en Ontario, où il apprend l’anglais et fait partie du groupe musical de son école. À cette époque, Martin chante déjà plusieurs succès francophones pour son plaisir.

Il poursuit ses études à Montréal, et suit en parallèle des cours auprès de Mme Lucille Dumont, surnommée la grande dame de la chanson. Les sept années qu’il passe auprès d’elle lui permettent de développer sa voix et son interprétation.

La carrière d’interprète de Martin Théberge débute alors, avec des concours comme Chanson en fête de St-Ambroise au Saguenay, Le tremplin de Dégelis et Les découvertes de la chanson de Magog. À travers ses expériences de concours, Martin commence à se produire à travers le Québec avec un groupe de cinq musiciens.

Dans son cheminement, Martin côtoie de grands artistes québécois et acquiert beaucoup d’expérience et d’assurance sur scène à leurs côtés, en réalisant la première partie de leurs spectacles.

Concerné par le bien-être des enfants, il s’implique dans de nombreuses causes humanitaires auxquelles il prête sa voix lors de spectacles bénéfice ou en tant que représentant. Parmi ces causes, celle de la jeune Elsa Chouinard, atteinte d’ostéogenèse imparfaite lui tient particulièrement à cœur. Il chante également pour les enfants accablés par la pauvreté en Jamaïque où il se rend de temps à autre.

Présentement, Martin se produit non seulement au Québec, mais aussi sur la scène étrangère. De l’Afghanistan à la Jamaïque en passant par le Salvador et les bateaux de croisière du Mexique, sa voix le mène de par le monde.
